Funny Chick-fil-A story
My wife does all the reservations for a sailboat charter company in the US Virgin Islands. Recently, she has been dealing with some folks from Chick-fil-A. They used to charter out of the BVIs, but due to the Coronapocalypse and barriers to entry into the BVIs they called my wife late summer. They did a few charters this fall and decided to move all of their sailboat chartering needs to the company my wife works for (let’s say - lots of charters). One of the recent charters was a short, late booking by one of the grandkids of the founder. They had a few minor issues with the boat (mostly self generated by not paying attention to the briefings). MrsGrandkid was kind of a pain and was constantly emailing my wife while the grandkid was calling the dock manager constantly. On Sunday, after numerous left msgs, the dock manager called him back where grandkid started to complain about lack of service. The manager asked if he was with the Chick-fil-A family and the kid proudly said yes. The dock manager explained that just like Chick-fil-A, the charter employees have Sundays off to spend time with their families and to attend service. Grandkid was very contrite and immediate changed his tone and apologized. Even MrsGrandkid quit complaining to my wife. 😂
As an aside, the charter company owner ended up refunding them for the charter (only 4 days), even though most of the issues were grandkid’s fault, due to the large number of charters booked already for the year. 😎👍🏻
